Audubon Adventures helps 3rd through 5th graders form positive attitudes about nature and supports teachers with
instructional content aligned with national standards for Social Studies (with an emphasis on Civics), Science, and Language Arts.
Each Audubon Adventures kit comes with a Classroom Resource Manual and different editions of our student newspaper. The teacher’s manual has four main
sections with classroom tips, hands-on activities, and background material for teachers. Finally, a glossary, a list of resources, correlations to science, language arts, and social studies standards, and an Audubon directory can be found in the back of the manual.
Using Audubon Adventures classroom materials is a wonderful way to engage teachers and students, in classrooms, at Audubon Centers, or other youth group settings, in Audubon’s mission.
An all-new Audubon Adventures kit is now available! The title of this new kit is “Action for Planet Earth”

At Home in a Habitat
Students will learn what habitat is and why protecting habitat is essential for the health and future of animals and their ecosystems, as well as humans and their communities. In learning about the harm that’s been done to habitats, as well as current threats, students will also find out about efforts to protect and restore habitat. |

Caretaking Our World’s Water
Water is both common and rare, plentiful and precious. All life needs water—plants, animals, and people. While Earth’s surface is mostly
covered by water, usable fresh water is a small fraction of the world’s water. By using water wisely and protecting water quality, we can share
this important limited natural resource with all living organisms. |

Power From Our Planet
Students will learn what energy is, why electricity is used to deliver power, the kinds of energy sources we use today, which ones are renewable and nonrenewable, which ones contribute to global warming, the effect of energy development and energy use on wildlife and people, and ways to save energy and help stop global warming. |
