Sergio Furman

Chief Development Officer

Sergio Furman serves as Audubon’s Chief Development Officer. In this role, Sergio oversees the work of the development team in raising funds from individuals, institutions and corporations, in partnership with Audubon staff, Board and volunteers.

Prior to joining Audubon in 2024, Sergio served as Chief Development Officer at the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research, where he led the Development Team to more than double the organization’s annual revenue. He also launched the capital campaign for the AgMission initiative, securing over $30 million for cutting-edge research to reduce greenhouse gas emissions arising from agriculture and food production worldwide. Before that, he held leadership positions at the Freedom Forum, Wildlife Conservation Society and Conservation International. He has also held senior roles at the International Paralympic Committee in Bonn, Germany and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Geneva, Switzerland. Sergio holds a certificate in marketing management from the Graduate Business School of Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce and Economics cum laude from the University of Toronto. He has served on the Board of the NYC chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and on the National Board of EarthShare. He is a regular presenter at regional and international fundraising conferences.
