
On and around Earth Day, Audubon centers, state offices, and local chapters are bringing communities together to celebrate birds and wildlife. With 15 state and regional offices, 31 centers, 29 sanctuaries, and over 400 community and campus chapters, Audubon is fostering a culture of conservation throughout the year. From plant sales to family-friendly events, these programs help empower people to protect wildlife and their own communities.

Rio Community Festival: Birds, Beer & Birdsong at Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center—April 26, 2025
This free festival will celebrate sustainable food, beer, music, and shared connections to wildlife. Attendees can enjoy nature activity booths, guided bird walks, and live animal workshops. The day will feature performances by The Birdsong Project, as well as Birds n' Beer science presentations.

Earth Day Weekend Puzzle Trail at the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey—April 19 and 20, 2025
Celebrate Earth Day with a visit to the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, where you'll have a chance to complete a conservation-themed puzzle trail as you make your way around. Solve all the puzzles and win a small prize!

Riverlands Native Plant Festival—April 26, 2025
Celebrate native plants and all they do for us and our environment! Local partners will share tips and local resources for native landscaping and its benefits. Return of the Thunderbirds at the Indian Center—April 5, 2025
Spring Creek Audubon Center will join the Indian Center, Inc. for this cross-cultural family-fun community event. This time of year many Native peoples give thanks to the Thunder beings for providing rebirth with rain & thunder. It is also a time we celebrate the return of many migratory birds to Nebraska. So Audubon and the Indian Center are celebrating together with music, dance, food, arts, kids games and activities, and much much more.

Families and groups are invited to participate in multiple projects to help kids ages 2-12 take action in protecting our environment and investing in our planet’s future. Earth Day at Aullwood: Celebrating Migratory Birds!—May 17, 2025
You’re invited to a family-friendly fun day at Aullwood Audubon! Celebrate spring and migratory birds such as warblers, tanagers and orioles – many of which nest at Aullwood. Learn how to make a difference and take some easy bird-friendly actions to protect migratory birds and make our own homes, neighborhoods and cities more beautiful and healthier. Free activities between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. include Slow Birding Walks, Family Exploration Walks, Bird Migration Storytelling, Ohio Falconry raptor show, draft horse wagon rides, a community created Grassland Bird Mural, an interactive musical concert focused on birds, migration and conservation and plenty of opportunity to explore Aullwood at one's own pace.

The John James Audubon Center and the 200+ acre Mill Grove estate will serve as a beautiful backdrop for an evening with good friends, good food, and, of course, good beer! Celebrate Earth Day with us! Bring your friends and family for a fun day packed with exciting activities starting with our annual native plant sale. City Nature Challenge at the Discovery Center—April 26, 2025
Download iNaturalist and join Discovery Center staff for a series of walks around the reservoir to competing in the world-wide City Nature Challenge. By participating and utilizing iNaturalist to identify all species found on-site, guests become community scientists as their data collected is stored and compared to other cities in real time.

This semi-annual plant sale offers a variety of native Texas plants that use less water and provide food and habitat for birds, pollinators, and other wildlife. Plants adapted for this landscape not only do better and benefit the ecosystem, but also beautify urban spaces and protect water sources. All sales benefit Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center.
