Conserving Terrestrial Habitats and Species Published

North Carolina Audubon biologist Curtis Smalling was part of the review team of the Conserving Terrestrial Habitats and Species report created by the Wildlife Resources Commission. This document works to summarize the best available science to guide the conservation of terrestrial habitats in North Carolina.

This document is a nice overview that will act as a companion to the more bird, IBA, and species specific pieces that our team is currently working on for our Together Green, Clabough Foundation and other sources for our land management work.  It has a simple approach meant for a broad audience, but with ample science underpinning it.

In August, this document was unanimously endorsed by WRC’s Commissioners and the Commissioners and upper Administrators all praised the level of input and review provided.
