I'm really excited and honored to be blogging on The Perch.
As part of my job as webmaster at the National Audubon Society, I’m constantly looking for information online, exploring the in's and out's of the web. I also spend a lot of my own time Internet surfing, and just about every hour (sometimes in my sleep), I find a cool site.
Here, I plan to share some links to sites that concern unique aspects of wildlife and nature that you might not run across otherwise, as well as some info you might not otherwise hear.
I'm also drawn to wonderful pictures and listings of things, so when they’re fitting, you might see quite a bit of those. And because music is also a passion of mine, if I come across anything music-related that also concerns natures, I'll be obliged to share that with you too.
If you have any ideas or suggestions for unique nature-related sites, feel free to share them with me, as I'd like to know what you think too.
To start with, since it involves both a list and some nice pictures, I'd like to share with you the 10 Most Amazing Extinct Animals, from Oddee, "an entertainment blog on oddities." This includes the (literally) old fave the T. Rex, the Great Auk (pictured above), a sea cow, a half-horse/half-zebra and other wonders of nature. Enjoy!
