Alan Feldenkris

Chief Communications and Marketing Officer

Alan Feldenkris serves as Audubon’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer. In this role, Alan oversees Audubon’s strategic messaging, brand communications and marketing, social media, editorial, advocacy, and direct response audience building efforts.

Prior to joining Audubon, Alan held several leadership roles at mission-driven organizations, including The Nature Conservancy, where he led North America Marketing and Communications in addition to Global Brand Strategy. Alan also worked at NPR and oversaw the launch of digital offerings to attract new audiences, as well as the development of an evolved brand strategy designed to broaden the brand's appeal. Alan also served as Chief Marketing Officer at Spirit of America, where he oversaw communications and fundraising efforts in support of humanitarian relief for the global Covid pandemic, as well for Afghan and Ukrainian citizens during periods of upheaval and war.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University, a certificate from Harvard Business School for the Program on Strategic Management for Environmental Leaders, and an executive certificate from The Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University.

Alan is a resident of Washington, D.C., where he enjoys cycling and bird-watching along the shores of the Anacostia River.
