Grace Ferguson Manager, Conservation Ranching Program, Audubon California (she, her)

Grace Ferguson is a Manager for the California Audubon Conservation Ranching Program, she works to support California ranchers and the ACR team by coordinating the monitoring on all certified ranches, writing Habitat Management Plans, and connecting ranchers to their local birding community and technical assistance providers.

Before joining Audubon California, she worked with the Yolo County Resource Conservation District, first as a GrizzlyCorps Fellow and eventually as a Project Manager. This work included managing grazing leases on public lands, planning and overseeing the implementation of restoration projects on farm edges, providing technical assistance to landowners for carbon farming and prescribed grazing, and participating in the Yolo Prescribed Burn Association. Before that, Grace earned a BS in Conservation and Resource Studies with a Minor in Forestry from UC Berkeley, focusing on rangelands, forests, and wildlife ecology.

Grace’s passion for working lands conservation started early, coming from growing up with horses and sheep in rural Solano County, CA. Now based in San Luis Obispo County on the Central Coast of California, Grace enjoys spending time outside with her dog camping, hiking, birding, or visiting the beach.
