Mia Rosati

Community Conservation Fellow

Mia graduated from UCLA in 2024 with a B.S. in Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution and a minor in Literature and the Environment. During her time at UCLA, she served as a board member and the Educational Events Director of the Bruin Birding Club, a campus chapter of the Audubon Society, where she organized workshops and outings to inspire students to connect with nature through birding. She was also the Secretary of Unravel, a sustainable fashion and social justice club, and a committee member of The Green Initiative Fund, a funding body supporting student projects and championing sustainability across campus. Mia also participated in various research opportunities at UCLA, including working as a technician in the UCLA Herbarium and contributing to the Sustainability Action Research program, where she co-designed and implemented a native plant nursery for her campus. Additionally, as an undergraduate researcher in the Tingley Lab, she completed a senior thesis investigating the relationship between ectoparasites and feather coloration in House Finches using natural history specimens.In her free time, Mia enjoys painting, drawing, birding, hiking, going to concerts, and spending time with her family, friends, and two cats!
