Trip Armstrong

Program Director, Great Salt Lake Watershed Enhancement Trust

Trip Armstrong is the Program Director of the Great Salt Lake Watershed Enhancement Trust, led by the National Audubon Society and The Nature Conservancy. In his role, Trip helps to guide and oversee the Trust’s operations and projects, including managing priority strategies and programs, as well as helping with local and regional development and outreach opportunities to support the work of the Trust.

Trip has a diverse science background that defines his relationship with western water and informs his work and ability to act for Great Salt Lake. Most recently, Trip worked for seven years at Utah State University as the Assistant Director at the National Aquatic Monitoring Center where he led river and stream research projects, working closely with federal and state agencies to better understand watershed health. Before living in Utah, he founded and directed an independent experiential high school in California where he developed an environmental science and ecology-based curriculum that incorporated outdoor learning experiences in the Sierra Nevada and the Colorado Plateau in Utah.
