Get Involved with Audubon California
California is for the birds—in the best way possible. From our redwood forests and rocky coastlines to desert blooms and vibrant wetlands, our state is the most biologically diverse state in the United States. More than 600 bird species call California home during some part of their lives, making it a critical stop along the Pacific Flyway.
But this natural treasure is under pressure. Development, drought, wildfires, and a changing climate threaten the habitats birds need to thrive. The good news? There's so much we can do—together.
Whether you’re supporting habitat restoration work, speaking up for stronger climate policy, joining a bird walk, or helping your community learn about local wildlife, you’re part of a growing movement to protect the places birds—and people—depend on.
With more than 1.6 million Audubon members across the hemisphere, you’re never alone in this work. Join us!

The Audubon Center at Debs Park in Los Angeles welcomes volunteers to support community events, habitat restoration, and more. Further north, you can experience the beauty of San Francisco Bay at the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary, a protected space for birds and people to connect with nature.
