Visitor Guidelines
We encourage visitors to enjoy and explore the space in whatever way feels right to them.
With this being said, please be respectful of our shared space and keep the following guidelines in mind:
-
The Center is a shared space - please be mindful of other visitors, volunteers, and staff
-
You may bring outside food or snacks to enjoy at the Center - please be sure to throw away all trash afterwards
-
Leave no trace and be gentle with the natural surroundings - do not pull or trim the native plants and foliage.
-
Do not throw sticks, rocks, coins or any other objects into the Center ponds. Climbing in the ponds is not permitted under any circumstances.
-
The park is home to many different kinds of wildlife such as birds, squirrels, coyotes, rabbits, and more - please be respectful of the wildlife and never feed a wild animal.
-
Smoking is not allowed in or around the Center
-
In an effort to preserve the natural habitat, dogs are not allowed in or around the Center as their presence and scent disrupts the environment for wildlife being protected in the park. Dogs are welcome on the Debs Park trails outside of the Center's 17 acres.
-
Poison oak can be found in the vicinity of the Center's Butterfly Loop and Hummingbird Trail. Please stay on the designated trails and be aware when touching any plants.
We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in being a good wildlife neighbor with us.

Frequently Asked Questions
We highly recommend our Children's Woodland trail for our young explorers. It is a brisk 10 minute walk for adults with no incline, which makes it ideal for children. Our Butterfly Loop trail is a 20 minute hike with some inclines and poison oak. You can learn more about the trails over at our Explore page.
Even if the parking gates are open past 4:00PM, we advise not parking inside the lot and instead parking along Griffin Ave. The lot is specifically open to the public until 4:00PM.
