Also known as Wild Red Raspberry, this perennial shrub produces arching, thorny stems up to 6 feet long. The familiar red, fleshy fruit ripens in late summer, while its bare twigs appear brown, orange, and red during the winter. This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies, and birds, and grows in full sun to shade, and in dry to moist soil.
