This perennial, deciduous shrub grows 8 to 15 feet tall, and produces clusters of white flowers in the spring as well as cranberry-like red berries. This plant’s foliage tends to turn an attractive purplish red color in the fall. It grows in full sun to partial shade and moist to wet, well-drained soils, attracting butterflies.
