Alaska’s Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is characterized by towering mountains, spectacular tidewater glaciers, deep fjords, and lush temperate rainforest. The park’s titular glaciers are certainly being impacted by climate change: There is 11 percent less glacial ice in Glacier Bay today than there was in the 1950s. By mid-century, Glacier Bay could provide important refuge for 24 bird species that are highly sensitive to climate change.
